Maine summers are undeniably wonderful. Especially after a long haul of a winter. All the greens and blues of the trees, sky, and waters are a treat for the eyes and for the soul. Add in the sights and sounds of Maine's rocky coast, the crashing ocean waves, and the scents of the ocean and sea roses and you've got yourself a perfect nature outing. Two Lights State Park in Cape Elizabeth has all of this and more.
The "more" includes oceanside and forested trails, tucked away picnic spots with grills, benches overlooking scenic vistas, grassy expanses, playground equipment, clean restrooms with running water, and plenty of parking.
Two Lights is my favorite state park. I make it a point to visit for some oceanside grilling at least once a year (more if I'm lucky). I've been in every season and always appreciate the escape into nature.
There is a fee to get into the park, but it is well worth the cost of admission. As of writing this (in June 2024), the fee schedule is as follows:
Adult Maine Resident - $5
Maine Residents 65 and older - Free
Children under 5 - Free
Children 5-11 - $1
Adult Non Resident - $7
Senior Non Resident - $2
