Summer Pet Safety

Keep Your Fur Babies Safe This Summer

Farmer’s Almanac calls July 3rd to August 11th the Dog Days of Summer. Is it because the days are sticky hot and not fit for dogs? Actually, the phrase is a reference to the constellation of Canis Major, the Greater Dog. This is the time of year when Sirius, the brightest star of the constellation, is the most visible.

With that being said, it is indeed days of the most oppressive heat and we should be careful about our pets’ safety. I make sure my pets have clean water readily available and for the dogs, a cool place to nap. For more information please check out these tips.

Help keep your l’il doggie safe during these Dog Days of Summer. We may complain about the humidity (it’s not the heat it’s the humidity) but I will take a warm day, any day, over below freezing temps and snow storms.
