Road Trip - Phone Booth

My photographer and I have had numerous road trips over the years. Each one being more fun then the previous and all involving good diner food. My business has taken me all over the State of Maine, even up to Eastport. YES, The Benner Group had a listing in Eastport. The seller was one of my clients that had already sold several of her properties down in Southern Maine, This Eastport property was the last of her real estate holdings to be sold.  When my client first approached me with the request to list this property, my first response was “But isn’t this Canada.” Of course it is in Maine but the most easterly tip of the whole United States and it might as well have been in Canada. While we were there, my phone kept switching to Canadian time.  My client insisted that I would be the agent in charge and she would not trust anyone else.  So off to Eastport we went, my photographer and I.  The home was a gorgeous mansion on a lake just a stone’s throw from the border. Oh and did I mention we were listing it at $950,000.  It was worth the trip and our road trips are always full of fun. This one was no exception.

At one gas stop we found an actual pay phone still in use along with a list of free phone calls one could make. Check these out. Worth a chuckle. My friend is too young to know of a time when every Mom would tell their daughters to make sure to always have a dime in our shoes for an emergency call home if needed on a date night.  Times have changed.

We spent two nights at a B & B in Eastport and went on a whale watching cruise in the Bay of Fundy all graciously paid for by my seller and host. It took a full day to get all the photographs of the house, guest house and summer house. The home was exquisite and the photos were all magazine worthy.  The home sold within a week to a local doctor that had dreamed of someday owning the historic property.  Happy Ending.

Until our next road trip ……..  Another day in the life of a real estate agent. #RealtorOnTheGo
