Day in the Life

Celebrating Moms & Nurses

Over the years, I have had the pleasure of working with folks from all occupations and walks of life. This month, in honor of both Mother’s Day and Nurses Week, I would like to celebrate a few of them that I have had the good fortune to call clients and my friends…. All the Moms and Nurses.

Thank you, Moms

In describing a Mom, one of the best quotes I have ever read is “Parenting is raising a child to be the best they can be. Being a mother is different: it means providing that indescribable feeling of comfort, no matter the age of the child. It’s being that person you call on that makes you feel better and doesn’t even need to say anything.” — Wendy Hunter, MD

For all of my accomplishments in life, nothing compares to being a Mom. There is a special bond with our Mothers that we never outgrow.

Many times while showing houses to prospective new homeowners, my buyers would be moments away, literally, from starting their family. It was a rush to find the new home before the birth. For one of my clients, Deb, she was pregnant for 2 of her real estate transactions. When she called me one day to discuss a new real estate adventure, I asked if she was pregnant. “No” she chuckled, it was a referral for her Mom who was looking to purchase.

All my buyers are special* but being a Mom myself, it makes it even more blessed when there are little ones. Their innocent, pure joy when they see their new home for the first time, their unbridled excitement as they run around checking each and every room, wondering which will be theirs. It never gets old.

I stay connected with my clients. It is a joy watching the families grow and seeing the improvements made to the homes. Both make me smile. Happy Mothers’ Day to all my clients. Hope you get to enjoy your “breakfast in bed”.

Thank You, Nurses

A year ago, we were reeling from the devastation brought by COVID-19. Lives were turned upside down. LIVES WERE LOST. Our front line workers were hit the hardest. Firsthand they witnessed what this terrible pandemic wrought. Each day they stalwartly did their jobs when all around them was breaking down.

So many of my clients are in the medical profession and I had wanted to show them that my thoughts and prayers were with them and their families. Playing with poster boards and markers and with a little cutting and pasting of construction paper, I created “Thank you” posters to celebrate all of these hard working folks. I then set out on a road trip to visit my clients, past and current, and all in the medical profession. I had planned on secretly delivering the posters as a surprise for Nurse Appreciation Week, but was pleasantly surprised to find all were home to entertain a visit in person, of course while being socially distant. They all admitted it had been hard but they were all persevering. So proud of these folks!!! Our thoughts continue to be with our frontline workers who are keeping us all safe. Let’s all say Thank you. Stay STRONG my friends.

Special Note

*I embrace all buyers, regardless of occupation, orientation and all walks of life. I believe in The Fair Housing Act which prohibits this discrimination because of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, and disability.

Staging in Augusta

It was a pleasure to work with my seller in the sale of her 1866 cape located in in-town Augusta. It had good bones, great flooring, fresh paint, but just needed a “pop of color”, my mantra for any design.

Plethora of Parasols

The store is located near the Causeway on Rt 302 and was the perfect jumping off point for a day of showings. I would stop in, depending on the time of day, and grab either home cooked breakfast or lunch. The food is great but the decor is fantastic.
