If you're ever out in Cornish or Standish (or the Sacopee Valley or Ossipee Valley areas) Fairgrounds Sports Bar and Grill is a local favorite. With a menu that encompasses pizzas, burgers and sliders, subs, sandwiches, steaks, fish, shrimp, an array of classic appetizers, a great variety of salads, options for kids, and many desserts, there’s something for everyone here.

I was in the area because I was helping my clients get ready to sell a Watchic Lake home, and they had recommended Fairgrounds for lunch. We shared a poutine appetizer, a reuben sandwich with a side of coleslaw, and a Greek village salad. It did not disappoint.

Fairgrounds is a large restaurant, with air conditioning seating inside as well as shaded picnic tables and a gazebo outside. For cooler months, they also have a fireplace for a cozy atmosphere. And as their name gives away, they have many flat screen TVs for watching the game with family and friends, but also different sections without TVs that feature hanging art in case you want to prioritize conversation.

In addition to the yummy food, the service was also great. From friendly greetings and goodbyes from the hosts at the entrance, to our attentive server who had a warm personality and a fun purple metallic server book, you can’t go wrong with a Maine adventure to Fairgrounds.
