If you ever find yourself downtown, hungry, and needing to buy a gift, I know of a place where you can eat and shop at the same time. Two birds, one stone. Not only does Portland Pottery Café have delicious food, drinks, and treats, they also have selections of local artists' creations that were made at Portland Pottery Studios next door. If you've ever thought about trying to make pottery yourself, check it out. They offer exciting, fun, and relaxing classes where you can learn all about clay, wheel-throwing techniques, hand building, and the process of glazing and firing.
I popped in with my friend the photographer after we had finished staging and photographing a listing I had in Falmouth earlier this year. We had worked up an appetite and were looking for a bite to eat. I got the Figgy Piggy, thinly sliced ham, fig infused goat cheese on ciabatta (they were out of the lightly buttered oat bread), grilled until melted and crispy. Would definitely recommend! My friend got the Avocado BLT, tomato, hickory bacon, lettuce, avocado, mayo, ciabatta (again, because they were out of the oat bread), and she would also definitely recommend. I was contemplating the frittata over the sandwiches, being crustless and gluten free as a take home snack for my daughter but got distracted by the sweet baked goods. Those treats were tempting and numerous. We got some to go and were so excited to eat them that we forgot to take photos. Oops! But trust me, they were also good.
