Stuff Seen on Showings (SSOS) - A Plethora of Parasols

February 10th … It’s National Umbrella Day

There seems to be a National Holiday for pretty much any topic like National French Fry Day, National Pet Day, and National Ice Cream Day just to name a few. There is even a National Read in Bathtub day, and no I wasn’t going to show photos of that. You get the idea. But did you know that umbrellas even have their own day? Wednesday, February 10th is National Umbrella Day. Who Knew? To celebrate the day, I wanted to share some photos taken at a store in Naples that I visited numerous times over this past summer. I was doing a lot of business in the area of Harrison, Bridgton, and Naples with all of those out of state buyers looking for waterfront properties. The store is located near the Causeway on Rt 302 and was the perfect jumping off point for a day of showings. I would stop in, depending on the time of day, and grab either home cooked breakfast or lunch. The food is great but the decor is fantastic. Living up to its name, The Umbrella Factory Supermarket has hundreds of umbrellas hanging from the ceiling … a plethora of parasols. All for decor and not for sale.

A family owned business, the supermarket is a local hometown Shop’n Save and a full service Hannaford Independent Grocery. Their advertising is “Life is Delicious” and at their store, it is also quite Colorful. If you are in the area, check out their pastries, pickles, pizza and parasols. Then drive to the causeway and enjoy your picnic. It is a delicious way to spend an afternoon. Happy National Umbrella Day.
