I love older homes. I have owned an 1815 New Englander and an 1853 Federal home. They were beautiful, full of vintage charm, with high ceilings, horsehair plaster and beautiful crown moldings. They also had sloping hardwood floors, drafty but authentic windows, and leaning chimneys. Having owned an older home, I can appreciate what it takes to renovate and maintain an historic building. It was a pleasure to work with my seller in the sale of her 1866 cape located in in-town Augusta. She had been working tirelessly over the last year to get it ready for listing. It had good bones, great flooring, fresh paint but just needed a “pop of color”, my mantra for any design. After a little staging and jooshing, the home hit the market with strong showings and busy open house. With multiple offers, this home went under contract in 4 days. Yes, the little details in how your home looks makes all the difference in presentation and subsequent successful sale.

The reproduction barn with red doors needed to be properly showcased.
After
Umbrella up, table set for drinks and complimentary cushions make the patio inviting. The leaves were raked, flowers added to the plant barrels, and firewood ready in the fire pit. This sets the scene to sit down for a spell.
Before
Good bones in the kitchen with new tiles and countertop but missing form with function.
After
Brought in couple of wooden stools to show table used for dining. Pop of color with yellow vintage set of tins, plants and fresh fruit. Ready for your morning cup of coffee.
Before
The covered deck was a great feature but this patio couch had seen better days.
After
A fresh new couch cover and tons of bright and colorful pillows for a Pop of Color. A wooden crate with tray of drinks, equally colorful completes this seating area. Perfect spot for looking out over the gardens and evening sunsets.
