Spring is a great time to get out and enjoy the great State of Maine and everything that it has to offer, including Maine Maple Syrup. Most sugarhouses offer maple syrup samples and demonstrations on how pure Maine maple syrup is made. Many farms offer games, activities, treats, sugarbush tours, music, and so much more. Maine Maple Sunday is always the fourth Sunday in March although some sugarhouses are offering events for both Saturday and Sunday (March 22-23, 2025). Please be sure to read the description of each sugarhouse to know what times they will be open and the activities they offer.

Maine's largest agricultural fair second in New England in size only to Eastern States in Massachusetts. Today Fryeburg Fair sits on 185 acres and has over 100 buildings. The eight-day fair hosts over 3,000 animals including prize-winning draft horses, ponies, racing horses, oxen, dairy & beef cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry, rabbits and much more. Maine's Blue Ribbon Classic is always during the first week in October.

Looking for a fun activity to do? Take a picture of a honey bee pollinating in your community, and help scientists learn more about bees' preferred foraging conditions. This project is mapping honey bee pollen and nectar sources all over the world. The goal is to identify the flower species that the honey bee is collecting nectar or pollen from. Make sure to get a good picture of the flower that the honey bee is collecting from. Include the time of year, and local temperature in the area where the honey bee was recorded.
